2011 Tournament Results

For the past several years I have tried to keep this page current. It has been a real struggle to get information from the clubs, and as a result has been very time consuming to maintain... so if every event isn't listed here it is probably because either a club secretary has not sent the information or the information has not been posted on their web site in a timely manner. If you know of an event that is not listed here, and would like to see it listed please let me know at bouleman@gmail.com.

Realize that last minute changes in schedules will occur! So confirm an event before you travel any great distance.

Petanque Club Tournaments - West Coast 2012

  
 

Note that I have not grouped the clubs by their FPUSA Regions exactly, but rather by their proximity. (Perhaps the FPUSA will be revising their regions similarly in the near future. But the member clubs will have to make that request for it to happen.) So, for example, though the Pacific Northwest clubs and Northern California clubs are all part of the FPUSA NW Region, I have separated them into two Regions since in this way they are within reasonable driving distance. For that same reason, Oakhurst and Fresno are probably closer to the Bay Area and therefore have been grouped with them instead of the Southern California clubs. Let me know whether this makes sense to you or whether you would like to see the clubs grouped differently.

  
 

I will try to color code for Select, Panache, and Melee so that you can easily spot your favorite format. So, for example, a team trying to get in as much team experience as possible before a Regional competition can see where the Select tournaments are being held. The lists are arranged by date, then format, then location, then hosting club.

  
 

Entering a Select Doublettes or Triplettes tournament? Try to wear team uniforms! They could be as simple as t-shirts or polo shirts the same color, or for a reasonable amount you can get uniforms printed with your team name at any sports uniform company - most towns have someone doing that for the Little League, Soccer, and school teams. The super bright team shirts to the right cost about $25 each including club logo and player names embroidered on them. Show your colors! And make petanque tournaments as colorful and fun as they are in Europe!
