Walk the Line

Return to non-secret world

Before you throw, always walk the line that you are going to throw. Walk it up to the target area, and then back. This will accomplish a couple of important things. It will slightly smooth your boule's path... but more importantly, it will transmit a lot about the condition of the surface to you through your feet. If you can wear soft-soled shoes all the better! You will feel depressions, slopes, the softness of the surface, stones lying just below the surface - lots of good information can be gleaned if you walk the line and are alert to what your feet are telling you!
